Frequently asked questions about the case machine

Everything we usually get asked before buying the custom case vending machine. Can't find your answer? Write to us.

The machine and the printing

How long does the machine take to print a custom case?

Under 3 minutes, guaranteed. The customer designs their case on the touchscreen, pays, and the UV printer prints and delivers it on the spot, ready to use.

Which phone models does the case vending machine support?

It can stock virtually any model on the market. Even so, we recommend configuring the storage with the most common models, which we have identified through our sales statistics and market research (with slight variations by region). The catalogue is updated as new models launch.

Does the machine need staff to operate?

It needs no permanent staff: it sells on its own 24 hours a day. You only need someone to handle maintenance and restocking, which takes about 1 hour a week.

What maintenance does it require?

The most common task is cleaning the printhead to prevent clogs. UV ink is less prone to clogging, but the possibility exists, so we recommend running a daily cleaning — you can trigger it remotely from the software, without travelling. In addition, once a month you replace the bag where waste ink collects.

How much space and what installation does it need?

It has a footprint of just 128 × 87 cm (230 cm tall) and weighs 380 kg. It plugs into a standard power outlet (100-240 V, 450 W) and only needs Wi-Fi or 4G. No building work or special installation required.

Which payment methods does it accept?

All of them: contactless payment by card or phone, QR code, banknotes and coins. Note that cash payments do not give change. Many operators nowadays configure digital payments only, although we recommend keeping cash as well, to give customers every possible facility.

How many inks does the machine need and how long do they last?

It runs on CMYK ink (four colours), with no white ink: the white comes pre-applied as a print base on the case itself. This is a strategic choice, because in UV printing white is the colour that causes the most printhead problems. A set of four 500 ml colours yields around 2,000 prints — enough to refill the entire storage several times over.

What is the print quality like? Does the design wear off with use?

UV printing is extremely precise and, as the ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light, the design bonds permanently: it withstands water, sunlight and everyday scratches far better than conventional printing. Want to see for yourself? Ask us for a sample and we will send it, no strings attached, to the address you give us.

What happens if a print comes out wrong?

It has never happened to us yet, but the customer is always protected: the machine displays a customer service phone number and, in line with the consumer regulations in force in the vending sector, they are offered a refund or an alternative compensation, whichever they prefer.

Does the machine work outdoors or only indoors?

It works in both, but we always recommend installing it indoors: as with any electronic device, outdoor wear is greater due to exposure to the elements.

Can I run several machines and manage them from a single app?

Yes. Each machine has a built-in computer running our software, which lets you centralise the management of all your machines in a single app: sales, stock, ink and maintenance, wherever you are.

The business and profitability

Is a phone case vending machine profitable?

In vending, profitability depends above all on one factor: the location, which directly determines the machine’s sales volume. Unlike other vending machines, this one offers a very high gross margin per unit, so it becomes profitable at a very low turnover. We recommend using the calculator in our Profitability section to run your own estimates.

What are the pros and cons of this business?

Pros: very high gross margin per case, autonomous 24/7 operation, only 1.2 m² of space, a personalised product with no direct competition, remote management from the app and a machine you can relocate if the spot underperforms. Cons: profitability depends heavily on the chosen location, it needs a small weekly commitment (restocking and cleaning), there is an initial investment to recover and sales can vary with the season. Our job is to help you squeeze the former and minimise the latter.

Where can I see the results of these machines in Spain?

In three ways: by visiting our machines to see them working live, by asking us for any videos or images you need, or by writing to us so we can show you real performance statistics for each machine — and how they vary depending on the target audience, the location and the context of each one.

How much does the machine cost?

The price varies with several factors: the payment methods fitted, the chosen printhead, any extra modifications you need and market price fluctuations. Tell us what you need and we will send you a personalised quote in under 24 hours.

Do you offer financing or other payment options?

Yes: we offer financing options and other acquisition formulas, such as rent-to-own. Write to us and we will study with you the option that best fits your case.

What is the shared-investment model and how can I take part?

It is our model for people who want to invest their savings in a real asset, outside the more traditional routes such as financial markets: several people pool their small capitals to get a machine running together and benefit from the advantages of collective action. To take part, go to our Community section, check that you meet the requirements and join.

Do you help me find the location? Can I move the machine?

Yes to both. One of vending’s greatest advantages is that it lets you correct course: if a location does not deliver the expected results, you move the machine — unthinkable in a traditional business. We also advise you on choosing the location, the marketing strategy for your potential customers’ demographic segment, risk diversification and negotiating the rent for the space.

How many cases a day do I need to sell to cover costs?

It depends on your conditions, because part of the costs is not fixed: the location rent varies with the deal you strike with the landlord — which is why negotiating it well is essential. With the calculator in our Profitability section you can enter your numbers and see exactly what turnover you need.

Purchase, delivery and installation

Does it include warranty, training and technical support?

Yes. It includes lifetime support, full training in everything related to the software, maintenance and machine updates, and a one-year warranty covering every component except the printhead.

What is the delivery time?

We keep stock in our warehouse, so the lead time comes down to shipping: about one week from the order.

Do you ship?

Yes, we ship throughout Spain — both the mainland and the Balearic and Canary Islands. We deliver the machine to cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Málaga or Bilbao, and anywhere across the other regions. The shipping cost depends on the destination and we detail it in your quote. If you are outside Spain, write to us and we will look into your case.

Are delivery and installation included in the price?

Shipping costs vary depending on the delivery location. Installation and commissioning can be added to the order as an extra service, although it is not essential: the included training equips you to do the installation and start-up yourself at no additional cost.

How do I order spare parts and how long do they take?

Cases and ink are ordered directly through us and delivery usually takes a week. We recommend planning ahead and restocking a little in advance, without waiting for stock to run out.
